BMT Defence Services iOS iPad Apps
BMT Defence Services is a leading independent centre for engineering design, design support and technical services for defence customers. BMT Defence Services is a wholly owned subsidiary of BMT Group Ltd, a leading international multi-disciplinary engineering, science and technology consultancy.
BMT Defence Services Ltd planned to attend annual the Defence & Security Equipment International (DSEi) exhibition. Rather than take the usual mountain of literature that you would normally associate with exhibiting at a tradeshow and to reinforce BMT's status as a technology market leader, they decided to produce a custome iOS iPad brochure app. This app would then be displayed on stand mounted iPad 2s. The app could then be later released on the app store and would facilitate exposure to a wider target audience.
BMT Defence Services had their own internal iOS developer, so all they needed was a designer. Having previously pleased BMT with some email designs, I was picked for this awesome project. As the creative lead I was charged with the user interface design, app structure, flow and user interaction.
BMT Defence Service’s app was completed in plenty of time for the exhibition and were well received by both stand manners and customers. So well in fact, that BMT ISIS and BMT Reliability Consultants, who were also attending DSEi 2011, decided they wanted their own iOS apps two weeks before the exhibition... plenty of time! All three apps were completed on time for the show and went down really well.
